Unforeseen problems can arise in the most well ordered lives. Even things you thought could never happen to you sometimes become a reality. Everyone responds to problems differently but many people find it helpful to talk to someone to help them cope with problems that are affecting family life,
such as:
Also in families, children and adolescents in distress may not be able to communicate the cause of the distress, but may act to attract attention in other ways.
Counselling can help you to assess ways of resolving or coping with problems. Strategies can be developed together which will be right for you, since counselling is not about telling someone what to do.
Counselling with young people allows them the space to express their view of their world by talking, playing or drawing. The counsellor and the child can then think together about the problems. Our counselling service can be used by current or past clients at any time. In addition, if it is appropriate for children to be consulted during the mediation process, our in-house counsellor would normally be involved.
We can provide a list of local and national counselling and therapy directories. One of our mediators, Ashley Palmer, is also a practising counsellor and can be contacted directly through her website.
